Quoted And Noted: ‘I am simply a book drunkard’

Mondays are kind of my least favorite day of the week. I mean, there’s the whole back to work dread and that feeling that Friday is light years away. I have decided to combat this 24 hour dread by doing something I love, finding quotes and learning a new skill. I’ve decided to try my hand at making those gorgeous printable/quote graphic things that I love seeing on Pinterest. I’m not exactly going to start off like a superstar or anything, but I think this is a skill that will improve over time.

I am simply 'a book drunkard.' Books have the same irresistible temptation for me that liquor has for its devotee. I cannot withstand them.

I think that if you are reading this blog you can ABSOLUTELY relate to this quote by Anne Of Green Gables author LM Montgomery. I know that whenever I browse Amazon or go to a store that somehow sells books, I cannot resist browsing the shelves and adding books to my cart, ever.

How about you?

If you like this feature or the graphic, feel free to pin it. As always, let me know your thoughts in the comments.

  1. Oooh, I love this! Personally, I’m horrible at making these things but I like this new feature!

  2. I am loving this idea! And that quote is amazing… looking forward to more Monday quotes!

  3. My Lord, there has never been a more appropriate quote. When it comes to books, everything seems so much more right. There’s no better feeling than getting so intoxicated by a book that you wake up with the book on your face and drooling all over yourself.

I’m not saying that’s ever happened to me or anything.

  4. Very appropriate! (I love pinning all things bookish – so I will definitely pin this as soon as I hit submit!)

And thanks for a way to brighten up my Monday!!

  5. YES! This is me, too. I’m trying to not be so frivolous when it comes to buying books, though. I have a TON that I’ve yet to read and really need to make a dent in that pile before I start adding more. It’s funny how many places sell books, though … before it used to be just the bookstore and now it seems that EVERYWHERE sells books — and good books, too!

    Thanks for sharing!

  6. Fun idea! Love the quote. =)

  7. Definitely feeling the quote! Question, though: how did you make the beautiful graphic quote? I’m always wondering how to do that! 😀

  8. This is a great idea, and I love the first quote you chose to mess around with. Lovely!

  9. That is indeed a great quote.

There is this Spanish philosopher who said something that translates into “Books are the only true addiction I know off. There is no way to quench our thirst for them than more books.”

  10. What a fabulous quote. 🙂

  11. Bahahaha, yes. No wonder I love L. M. Montgomery. She’s clearly a kindred spirit. This explains my relationship with books perfectly!

  12. I never commented on this post to tell you that I adore this.

    Consider it done.

  13. This is AWESOME. I love it. I will be back every Monday to check out your quotes and your design skillz! 🙂
