I hate when I get a holiday off and expect to spend the whole day reading but instead end up fiddling with my blog layout and CSS all damn day. You guys. If my computer wasn’t so expensive — at least what I consider expensive (I had to save for a long time), I would have punched it in the face. It is SO frustrating when you are trying to change your site and are working with a whole new layout (Thesis 2) and it doesn’t do what you want. SO instead of reading all the books and writing all the reviews, I ended up playing with all the HTML. At least it was a great week mail-wise!

For Review:
The Center Of Everything by Linda Urban (Vine) - Small town, donuts, Fred Rogers epigraph, middle grade, big print, short chapters OF FREAKIN COURSE I picked this book out from Vine like, immediately.
The Wrap-Up List by Steven Arntson (Vine) – Straight up, I love books where Death plays a role.
Boundless by Cynthia Hand (Unsolicited) – I kind of screamed when I saw this book, because hello I want to know how the trilogy ends. I actually immediately started it the day that it arrived and that pretty much never ever happens here. I finished it last night and am filled with all the sighs.
Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi (Unsolicited) – Finally I get to see why so many of my friends are all Team Warner, because in the first book I’m like Team Warner Is A Psychopath I Don’t Give A Fig About His Upbringing.
Everbound by Brodi Ashton (Unsolicited) – Clearly, I need to read this book like very very soon.
Through The Ever Night by Veronica Rossi (Unsolicited) – Y’all, the letters on there are silver. SILVER. How cool is that?
The Madman’s Daughter by Megan Shepherd (Unsolicited) – Oh my god, the hardcover of this IS GORGEOUS you guys.
Shadows In The Silence by Courtney Allison Moulton (The End Is Near expert) x2 – I finished this book this week, and sigh. WHAT AN ENDING. Also, I have like a ton of copies of this, expect giveaways all over the place.
Monument 14 by Emmy Laybourne (Requested Review Copy) – SO you guys! I love that this came on Martin Luther King Jr. Day because the USPS is closed what with it being a national holiday and all. I felt pretty smug about getting mail, I won’t lie. Actually, REALLY smug. hahahaha. Anyways, I cannot wait to find out what happens with the kids. And fricken Astrid.
Shadow On The Sun by David Maccinnis Gill (Unsolicited) – Basically, the story sounds cool and it’s about this guy who is the prince of Mars. But you guys, the cover is totally ridiculous, like make fun of bad. I’m still going to read the piss out of this book though.
Mortal Fire by Elizabeth Knox (Requested Review Copy) – So, I actually own Dreamhunter and Dreamquake after purchasing in my pre-blogging days when someone on goodreads recommended them. I never did get around to reading them. Methinks I should remedy that this year. Anyways, the cover is bad ass. The spine is thick. It’s fantasy. Of course I cannot wait to read it.
The Eye Of The World: The Graphic Novel Volume 3 by Robert Jordan (Unsolicited) – I am just going to be 100% real with you and say I was actually psyched for this unsolicited book because I read the shit out of the Eye Of The World and Wheel Of Time in high school. I would have loved to be an Aes Sedai. Whatever. And I want to see what Rand, Mat, and Perrin look like. I only ever got to book three of Wheel of Time because my library never had all the books of the series, boo. ANYWAYS. I just added the first two of the graphic novel volumes to my wish list.
Kalimpura by Jay Lake (Unsolicited) – Okay, this book has a cool cover, but it’s the 3rd of a series, so I don’t know whether I want to commit yet or not. Alas.
Revenge Of The Girl With The Great Personality by Elizabeth Eulberg (Netgalley) – YES! Girls with awesome personalities shall inherit the earth.
The Reece Malcolm List by Amy Spaulding (Netgalley) – AHHHH! I featured this book in one of my Top Ten Tuesday lists and holy crapola I cannot wait to read it. CANNOT WAIT.
Fuse by Julianna Baggott (Netgalley) – YESSSS! Time to see what is going on with Pressia and the guy whose name I forget. BUT PRESSIA WITH THE DOLL HEAD HAND. YES. Lul. I love that you guys, blogger and reader friends put up with my weirdness.
The Moon And More by Sarah Dessen (Netgalley) – Oh you guys I couldn’t help my yelping after opening the approval email because my heart was all clenched like they were going to be like sorry bro you are rejected but instead it was like OH HEY YOU DOWNLOAD THIS FROM YOUR DASHBOARD. Hell yes.
Kindness For Weakness by Shawn Goodman (Netgalley) – This contemporary book sounded great and it seems like it’s kind of under the radar right now so I can’t wait to read it and put it on more people’s radars.
The Best Man by Kristan Higgins (Netgalley) – Oh frick yes. SO SO EXCITED for new Kristan Higgins.
Jerusalem: A Family Portrait by Boaz Yakin illustrated by Nick Bertozzi (Netgalley) – YESSS! More graphic novels forever and for always you guys.
Purchased:
Ten Cents A Dance by Christine Fletcher – I bought this on my Kindle for $1.99 and I’ve been very curious about this book for a very long time. When I happened to see it on sale for so cheap, I just had to snap up this historical fiction YA book published by Bloomsbury.
Violins Of Autumn by Amy McAuley – Another YA historical fiction that was $1.99. No thoughts about buy I just one-clicked.
11/22/63 by Stephen King – Okay, so this was $3.99 but I love the master of horror forever and always and promise to eventually read it.
Redwall by Brian Jacques – This noise was free on Kindle and although we own multiple copies of the Redwall series in physical form, I could resist having it on my Kindle forever and for always. You guys my heart will always be at Redwall Abbey. But also out on the Long Patrol. And with the badgers of Salmandastron. Also. Tony and I bonded over these books. BONDED.
Bliss by Kathryn Littlewood – ALSO free on Kindle. Heck yes. I reviewed this book like last year, but it‘s published by Harper Children’s and is about a magical bakery. So good.
A Dance With Darkness by Courtney Allison Moulton – Okay, so now that I’ve finished the Angelfire trilogy, I have separation anxiety and decided I need to own and read this novella.
In case you skipped it or missed it, here’s a recap of what we’ve posted here last week:
I talked quite a bit about the cover of Playing For Keeps by RL Mathewson but ultimately decided I enjoyed the book, despite a few minor issues with it.
Boarding school, winter, doomed love and CDs are pretty much the reason that I loved the very literary debut The Tragedy Paper by Elizabeth LaBan.
Unfortunately Allison did not love Girl Of Nightmares by Kendare Blake as much as Anna Dressed In Blood.
In which Allison PLEADS for more books with these TEN settings.
Remember that time I waved my arms around and was all GO READ The Fire Horse Girl by Kay Honeyman.
Or that other time I was all, you guys, UPS My Choice Changed My Life.
