Top 10 Books To Read In A Day

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the Broke and The Bookish and was created by the Perpetual Page Turner.

I love it when I have a day off and I can just read all day. And this week’s theme is perfect because it’s all about those books you read in a single day, or even a single sitting.

  1. Vampire Academy is PERFECT for this list. I read the entire series in like four day, actually. I was OBSESSED. Also, I finally started reading Sea of Monsters on Saturdays at work – I will eventually, someday, read all of Rick Riordan’s books – one Saturday at a time. Annddd The Boyfriend List – I have this. I should read it, yes?

  2. Vampire Academy! I seriously need to read that. And I love The BFG! I should reread that sometime soon, it’s been ages. If I Stay, Anna and the French Kiss, and HP are all on my list too. Such awesome books. <3

  3. LOVE some of those. A whole-hearted YES to The Westing Game. One of the BEST. BOOKS. EVA.

  4. When I was 12 I read all 8 Anne of Green Gables books in 6 days. I couldn’t get enough. My Mom was worried about me and told me to co climb a tree. So, I brought the book with me and read it up in a tree. I love me some Gilbert!

I don’t know how ANYONE can’t read Anna and the French Kiss in one day. You start and you just can’t stop! That is good stuff!

  5. Such a fun list! Anne of Green Gables and Anna and the French Kiss and Harry Potterr! Percy Jackson is my king too, haha. πŸ˜€

  6. Ruby Oliver!!!!!! I love her. So much.

  7. Vampire Academy. YES. YESYESYES. Anna and the French Kiss makes my list too. And, apparently, according to these lists, I really need to get my hands on If I Stay…

  8. I really need to get to reading the Ruby Oliver books! I’ve never heard a bad thing about them… And Vampire Academy? Yes please!! The week I read most of those was great, a book a day for four days, plenty of time with Dimitri and Adrian!! *swoon*

  9. And The Boyfriend List makes it to my TBR list because I LOVE footnotes and books that are so good you finish them in a day!

  10. Yes, yes, yes to Anna and the French Kiss. Which reminds me, I should re-read that soon… πŸ™‚

  11. The BFG! Seeing that book cover just totally sent me down memory lane. And you know I’m all about the HP…

  12. I left off Perkins and Dahl – there were too many books to include, and I so thought I’d have a hard time finding ten this week!

I’ll have to check out The Boyfriend List, it sounds fun! I don’t think I’ve ever heard of The Wresting Game. I have Vampire Academy and Percy Jackson to read already. And I agree with you about HP – he is THE MAN (or, the gawky kid with glasses) πŸ˜‰

    Here’s my list.

  13. I LOVE footnotes and kissing and huge, racking sobs and sexy Russian vampires…thus, I love this list.

  14. The Westing Game!!! I haven’t read that book in ages, but now I want to. I remember really really loving it when I read it in school a million bazillion years ago. πŸ™‚

  15. Fail. I so need to get my VA on.

  16. Yes, definitely Anna and the French Kiss and If I Stay …. and Harry Potter!! I’m going to “reread” those ones in audiobook soon … I can’t wait to go back! I loved the Vampire Academy book, too … NOT the whole series (I was kind of ticked off at the end of it) … but I remember loving the first book. πŸ™‚ Great list!

  17. Vampire Academy and If I Stay!!!!!!!! Awesome. I may have to read The Lightning Thief now. And what is with everyone reading Harry Potter in a day?! I missed out on the Harry-Potter-fandom gene. Great list!

    My Top Ten

  18. I can usually down a good book in under three hours, if given the chance. A great list–I LOVE the Westing Game! I used to read it with my sixth grade honors classes and it made them clamor for more mystery. God, I love when that happens. A rockin’ puzzle.

  19. If I Stay is totally a great one day read. And you can spend the rest of the day that you’re not reading emotionally wrecked. Totally checking out Anne of Green Gables on audio for a reread next time I hit the library…in such a mood for it as of late!

  20. Awesome, amazing list. I love me some Westing Game! Obviously I now need to read everything on your list that I have yet to have read.

  21. I already knew I liked your blog, but the fact that you included Anne of Green Gables (one of my very favorite books) because “Carrots and Gilbert Blythe and gettinÒ€ℒ crunk on Strawberry Cordial is exactly how I want to spend my day” just made me want to be your new best friend. Ha! Too funny! I totally agree on If I Stay, Harry Potter and Anna and the French Kiss, and I’d probably agree on some of the others but I haven’t read them all. What can I say? I’m behind the times.

  22. The Boyfriend List is on my OMG I NEED TO READ THIS BOOK ASAP list.

Along with all of E. Lockhart’s books.

  23. I have been wanting to reread The Westing Game for so long. I have these good memories of reading it as a kid, but I don’t really remember anything about it.

  24. Fantastic list! Anna and the French Kiss is on my TBR pile. Would love for you to stop by and check out my Top Ten.

  25. If I Stay, Harry Potter, and Anna are such great choices! I can’t believe I forgot them on my list. =/

  26. Percy Jackson is the bomb, yo!
Also, I really need to read the Ruby Oliver series.

  27. Numbers 2, 3, 9, and 10! YES.

  28. Great list! I totally agree about the hottie Russian vampires πŸ™‚
