YEAH, I totally want to read Habibi like whoa. But I think I said that already in another of your posts. It hurts, almost. Gah.
FEVER. OMG. I read this a while back. I read Wither and immediately, without skipping a beat, opened Fever and kept going. I was WRECKED, BROKEN, just SLAYED. Everything on the cover is in the book, and there is a reason for her look. But WOWSERS. Lauren DeStefano has a freakin way with words, to take something so utterly horrifying and make it sound so beautiful! But that’s all you’re gettin from me, my dear!!! I can’t wait to see what you think.
And that Partials back cover…I actually called my best IRL bookish friend – the only one really – and read it to her and she got squeally. Which excited me greatly. That one is coming up soon here at this house and I can’t wait.
I like how you do this, but I don’t think I can plan this far in advance. I live a more loosely planned out existence, ya know? Stating what I’m gonna do is one heck of a way to make sure I don’t actually do it.
Ah, so many delicious books. I remain jealous!
Yay! Swallows and Amazons!!! I was very surprised at how awesome it is. SO much fun. After you read it – if you enjoy it, of course – I suggest you read Blood Red Snow White by Marcus Sedgwick which is an account of Arthur Ransome’s life in Russia at the time of the Russian Revolution, but written as a fairytale. It’s awesome.
It look like you’re going to have a great month. I wish that I would’ve got The Humming Room from Vine before it was gone. It looks so good! And Yay for Melina Marchetta!! I haven’t read that one yet but I did just read Finnikin of the Rock and it’s now on my favorite books EVER list. So amazing. Enjoy them all.
I kinda feel like I should read The Secret Garden before The Humming Room. Besides, it is on my FITG list and you know how obsessed I am with that lately. We’ll see.
I have a copy of Vesper since it was part of that Harper ebook sale, so I need to pick it up soon! Then I can read Havoc when it comes out too.
Partials! I’m excited about that one too. I may start it pretty soon.
As for Habibi…that thing is a beast. If you like it, I might grab it from the library.

I’ve been wanting to read Looking for Alibrandi, so I’m excited to check out your review for it. The Piper’s Son is still, hands down, one of the best books I’ve EVER read.

ANIMORPHS! YES! My elementary school self thought those books were awesome, I’ll totally read something new. I loved The Humming Room SO much, The Secret Garden was my favorite ‘classic’ as a kid, and it was such a good retelling. Roots is a beast, I wish I hadn’t read it when I was so young so that I might have appreciated it more, but I don’t have it in me to read it again. Have you watched the TV miniseries? It’s like 12 hours, but it’s very well done (at least I thought so 10+ years ago when I watched it).
Books I still have to read this month are: Me, and Earl, and the Dying Girl, Graffiti Moon, Partials, and Gil Marsh. Cheers!
