Peek A Cover: Hallowed by Cynthia Hand

Raise your hand if you were a huge fan of Unearthly by Cynthia Hand, featuring ANGELS WHO DON’T SUCK!

Yes?

WELL, friends, I was creeping on the Harper Collins Children’s Winter Catalog today and found the cover of Hallowed, book two of Unearthly.

Here it is in all it’s glory!

Hallowed by Cynthia Hand Book Cover

Hallowed

I think the cover matches Unearthly perfectly!

And to further whet your appetite, here is the summary to Cynthia Hand’s latest Hallowed:

‘For months part-angel Clara Gardner trained to face the raging forest fire from her visions and rescue the alluring and mysterious Christian Prescott from the blaze. But nothing could prepare her for the fateful decisions she would be forced to make that day, or the startling revelation that her purpose—the task she was put on earth to accomplish—is not as straightforward as she thought. Now, torn between her increasingly complicated feelings for Christian and her love for her boyfriend, Tucker, Clara struggles to make sense of what she was supposed to do the day of the fire. And, as she is drawn further into the world of part angels and the growing conflict between White Wings and Black Wings, Clara learns of the terrifying new reality that she must face: Someone close to her will die in a matter of months. With her future uncertain, the only thing Clara knows for sure is that the fire was just the beginning.

Described by Richelle Mead as “utterly captivating,” Unearthly received outstanding reviews, garnered accolades from New York Times bestselling authors, and was named an Indie Next Pick. In this heart-wrenching sequel, Cynthia Hand expertly captures the all-consuming joy of first love—and the agony of loss. This beautifully woven tale will appeal to fans of Lauren Kate, Becca Fitzpatrick, and Aprilynne Pike”

The on-sale date of Hallowed according to the catalog is 1/24/2012!

When I first saw the Unearthly cover art online, I thought, “Hmm. Not awful. Not spectacular.” But when I saw it all up close and personal in my hot little hands I was like, “HOLY WOW SO SHINY.” Can’t wait to see what this one looks like in real life, too.

I hope Hallowed is shiny in real life too! And as good as Unearthly.

I’m excited too! I loved Unearthly and thought that was one of the prettiest books I own. Now with this cover I’ll have double the pretty. Win!

Seems interesting. I’m not too fond of the cover, perhaps it’s because so many other covers are doing the same theme, girl on cover in long vintage dress. But I like the story description.

Oooh the winter catalog is up? I have to go look. This cover is really pretty but I still have Unearthly in my TBR pile. Hopefully I’ll read it before Hallowed is released.

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed Unearthly. I am looking forward to this one too. I love the cover! Thanks for sharing the cover and description. I will definitely be picking this up in 2012!

it’s so pretty. =D I was one of the people surprised with how good Unearthly was, too! Plus seeing the book in the wild is so different just from the graphic, so I’m betting Hallowed would be just as pretty (or prettier, because of that shade of blue!) when it’s out. Can’t wait!
