Kick it! You Gotta Fight For Your Right To Readathon

by April (Books&Wine) on April 6, 2011

Friends, I am making a declaration of war. That’s right. I refuse to do anything productive with my life on Saturday. Dishes? Laundry? Vacuuming? NO MAS! Will anarchy ensue in my home? Well, that is just a risk I am willing to take.

So why am I at war on Saturday? It is the Dewey 24 Hour Readathon. I know that as soon as I sit myself down with a book, that’s an open invitation to everyone around me to talk or to nag. NO MAS!

Here is what I shall use to build my fort:

Pile of books

Readathon Stack!

I will also devote an hour or two to motivating my fellow readathoners, as clearly you need my awesome presence all up in your blog with an encouraging word :-P

Also, I swear I will not be deathly hungover this time around. I will try to make it for at least 20 hours.

Have you read any books in my fort/stack? Any recs? Let me know if you are participating dear reader, I’d love to leave you a cheerful comment during readathon.

I affirm your life choices and recommend the Nancy Drew. I have a soft spot for Nancy Drew.

Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing is in my Readathon pile too (which is set to post in the morning)!! Your post cracked me up, I even read it to my husband. :) I cannot wait for Readathon. I plan on 24 hours of reading, tweeting, cheering, and I’m even hosting a mini challenge. Saturday can not get here soon enough!!!

Gosh, I completely forgot about the read-a-thon. Which is a bummer because I love them, but I won’t have enough time to this one since its only a 24 hour one.

From your stack, I have read The Princess Diaries which is a very fast read since it’s written as diary entrys.
The Titan’s Curse is also a pretty quick read and also quite good.

Best of luck in the readathon. ^_^

This Saturday will be my first time participating in the challenge!!! I really hope not to get distracted by the Internet, but I am determined to read at least two books! I’ve only read the Princess Diaries out of your pile. I’ve read a couple of Nancy Drew but not that one in particular.

I won’t be Dewying, partly because I’ve got other obligations on Saturday, partly because I <3 sleep, especially after a long week.

This is a war that can (and should) be won. Last time I had an event the day after read-a-thon and had to sleep. This go round, I have an event the night before. Hopefully, I will drink sparsely and sleep lotsly.

Happy Reading!

I loved The Princess Diaries series. Hopefully you’ll get a chance to read it tomorrow. Also, the audio books are really good – highly recommend!

I will also be reading, but will have a late start due to prior appointments.

Have fun reading! =)

The Titan’s Curse: Awesome.
The Mouse And The Motorcycle: Also awesome.
And is that a Nancy Drew? Can’t go wrong there. I haven’t read any of the others, but it looks like you’ve got a pretty rockin’ stack there.

Good luck & Happy reading!! :)
