Freedom To Read: Win The Crank Trilogy by Ellen Hopkins

by April (Books&Wine) on September 28, 2010

Every year, the ALA celebrates the freedom to read by holding a banned books week. This year Banned Books Week takes place from September 26 – October 3.

In celebration of this week, and in celebration of an amazing writer who stands up to censorship, I am giving away the Crank Trilogy by Ellen Hopkins.  Crank and Glass are paperbacks. Fallout is an ARC. The cover of Crank unfortunately got a little bit bent when I threw it in my bag. These books have been gently read.

My favourite book-that-got-banned of all time is . . . The Chocolate War by Robert Cormier. It is dark, gritty, uncompromising in its treatment of cruelty, and totally awesome!!!

Harry Potter series!!! Second in line will be Vampire Academy series. I can’t believe they’re banned :/

I LOVE the Vampire Academy series, probably one of the best of all times lol. Why does it matter the kind of books we read as long as we keep doing so?!

I would recommend Twenty Boy Summer by Sarah Ockler, which I read recently and really liked it.

Darlyn October 3, 2010 at 2:06 am

I must say that would be Harry Potter series (i just knew the are banned books recently and I don’t really get it why?) and of course The Lord Of The Ring. These are the best of the best and I’m looking for other banned books too like Speak and Twenty Boy Summer. And after all Ellen Hopkins books being banned, it urges me to look out for them too. They just can’t stop us, right?

Oh, thanks for the giveaway!
