Good Books & Good Wine Update

I went to a massive library book sale this weekend. It was one dollar for a huge box of books. I bought 5 boxes which came to 168 books. The video has all of the books, I won’t list them because that would take FOREVER. Let me say right here — I got some wish list items for what amounts to 3 cents.
Since I am so awesome at library book sale haulage, I will do a post soon on tips for scoring like a baller.
In other news, I made an awesome Project Fill In The Gaps list while I should have been productive. I’m pretty excited.
I don’t know how many of you may know this, but I’ve been thinking very hard lately about taking a hiatus from ARCs/Review Books. I mean, sure they are great and wonderful, but a) I don’t like how they look on my shelf; b) I’m not a fan of the pressure; c) you think your owned TBR pile is out of control?! Mine is over 700 books and growing because I can’t resist library book sales. d) My local library is amazing. I was thinking about a summer trial run. I would still read netgalley books though, because I love egalleys.

I have cut down drastically on the number of arcs I review. It has made my life so much easier. The pressure was a huge issue for me. I enjoy books a lot less when I feel pressured to read them. Plus, it is just too stressful. Reading and blogging is supposed to be fun!

Um…wow! You know how to rock a library sale! Lots of good Elizabeth Peters books – she's one of my favorite. Score on all those Nancy Drew :)
Lots of happy reading for you!!

Wow! That is a great haul! And I though I had problems with hoards of books coming home with me…. or as I say "followed me home". Looks like some great reads, I'm not a big Nancy Drew fan, but those books look like a great addition to your collection. Enjoy your new books….. I feel sorry for your bookshelves.

Wow, April! You have a great haul! I am so jealous – - I am on a self-imposed book buying hiatus until we finish our move. My husband has already griped about how many boxes of books we're having to pack up and move. ;)

Wow, you got a bunch of books for such a great bargain! I love my library sales but wish the prices at my library were as good as yours!

I'm now wondering where my copy of The Celery Stalks at Midnight went to. I loved The Shadow Children books when I read them! I really liked The Ear, the Eye, and the Arm too. I have and need to read A Place Called Freedom. I read The Secrets of NIMH in 4th grade and have both videos. I'm totally jealous of all the Nancy Drew books! Man you got lucky with your finds!

Where are you going to store all those books? (Ignore me it's just my jealously making me pretend to be concerned with practicalities).

I too have been thinking about say no to ARCs. I'm finding I'm not reading because I know I "have" to read a certain book. I'm being very selective in who I say yes too.
